SUMMARY:OPEN DAY AT THE MUSEUM
DESCRIPTION:We’ve got lots of activities on for kids and adults. THe Sir John Moore Foundation Museum is normally only open by appointment only\, because it is above a school. It is also up several flights of stairs! \n  \nBut for the annual Open Day I’m able to put exhibitions downstairs in accessible rooms\, and have games and activities for kids. We’ve also got refreshments\, an interactive Victorian lesson in our Victorian classroom\, and hourly tours of the museum. \n  \nAnd the whole thing is free! (Donations welcome) \n  \nSir John Moore Foundation\, Appleby Magna DE12 7AH. Back in time for school! For a fun family day out\, come to our Open Day. With a 17th century clock\, an early 20th century Punishment Book\, and a collection spanning over three centuries\, there’s a lot to see at the Sir John Moore Foundation Museum. Explore what it was like to work\, learn and live at one of the country’s oldest schools – but watch out for our Victorian teacher! \n  \nSunday 11th September 10am-4pm

SUMMARY:Queens Jubilee Weekend 2022
DESCRIPTION:The Parish Council has written to all the community groups in the Parish to invite them to be part of a committee to coordinate a schedule of events over the Queen’s Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend (2-5 June 2022). The aim is to make the weekend a fun\, enjoyable and memorable one and help our community groups raise funds where this is their purpose. A number of groups are already discussing and planning to schedule some of their usual events for this weekend\, and we’re certain that they would all appreciate any offers of help. With a 4 day Bank Holiday\, there’ll also be space for some additional activities\, so if you’ve an event idea that you’d  like to organise\, please join the committee.
