Save the Pub – Public Meeting
A public meeting was held in Sibson last night to save the historic Cock Inn which dates back to 1250.
Over one hundred local residents were in attendance with three senior representatives from Star.
Villagers made clear their desire to save the Cock Inn!
Heineken Star Pubs and Bars sent three national executives (operations, business development and investment) who stressed their commitment to renovate and reopen the Cock Inn.
There is a commitment to complete much needed repair and restoration work by the summer. Star say they hope to begin the work in 6-8 weeks and will send a timetable for works to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council next week.
Star will then look to bring in an operator and combine with them for major refurbishment and reopening.
Villagers and Star agreed to communicate regularly and everyone will work towards reopening hopefully later this year.
So far over seven hundred people have signed the public petition to reopen the Cock Inn which can be signed here:
