Consultation on the Number 7 Bus Service

The County Council has developed a new Passenger Transport Policy and Strategy (PTPS) to ensure its passenger transport provision is fit for purpose and cost-effective. These enable the Council to review all of the bus services it financially supports and to assess the case for continued support against the Strategy scoring system.

The review of Service 7 – Measham to Fenny Drayton via Atherstone – is now complete.

The County Council now  intend to engage with affected communities to inform them about the proposed new bus timetable and talk about potential local transport solutions which communities might develop to complement, improve or replace the county council’s offer.

They are holding Community Engagement Meetings as follows:

Thursday 6th June at 12:45 in Measham

Friday 7th June at 10:15 in Twycross

Monday 10th June at 17:45 in Witherley

The attached notices provide details of the meetings.

Should residents have any questions or queries, please email ptps@leics.gov.uk or call the Customer Service Centre on 0116 305 0001.

New Wildflower Meadow

The Sheepy Flower and Vegetable Show Committee (Julie Dixon, Keith Dixon, Pat Clark, Les Clark) have used monies raised from the Annual Sheepy Flower and Veg Show (that they organise and run every year), to purchase Wildflower Plants and Seeds. We proposed a brand new Wildflower Patch within The Sheepy Glade to both Clive Blewitt (Sheepy Playing Field Committee) and Ian Papworth (Sheepy PC). The SF&VS Committee, with full backing from Clive and Ian then set about researching the best seeds and plants to purchase and buy.

We chose UK Native. UK Grown. Organic. It was a stroke of added luck that the seeds also happened to come from a Warwickshire business (therefore supporting local business too).

Please see attached for full information:
