Severn Trent upcoming Mains Renewal Work In Shenton
My name is Talitha, and I’m the Community Liaison Officer for Leicestershire on Severn Trent’s Mains Renewal programme. As part of this initiative, we’ll be replacing 870 miles of mains pipe across our regions to help secure a reliable water future and invest in our communities for generations to come.
Over the next four years, we’ll be working across all nine of our regions. We are currently working across Leicestershire and the next area identified for renewal is in Shenton, where the existing mains have been showing signs of age and an increased risk of bursts and supply issues.
We understand that this work may cause disruption, particularly due to necessary road closures, so we wanted to share some of the details with you.
Project Timeline & Locations:
We’ll begin on A444 Twycross Road Monday 14 September 2026, working our way to Bosworth Road and then on to Sibson Lane, Shenton Lane and Main Road towards the end of the year. We expect this work to be carried out using a mixture of road closures and traffic lights.
