Free Trees Scheme, which is now open.

This year the council is giving away 27000 trees as part of our declared climate emergency. These trees will absorb over 10,000 tonnes of carbon over the next 40 years (assuming they all survive).

Community groups and parish councils can apply for up to 20 trees and up to 30 metres of hedging and we hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us and plant trees within your parishes and other community buildings  to both fight climate change and support wildlife.

The scheme launches on 26 September and you will need to be able to collect your trees on the weekend of 26/27 November. Click on the link in the attached document to find out how you can apply for your trees.  We recommend you apply asap to avoid disappointment as we expect a high demand. Please follow the link belwo for more details.
