LCC Community Speedwatch Pledge

Leicestershire County Council Community Speedwatch Pledge of Support

Sheepy Parish Council have applied to take part in this years Community Speedwatch Scheme, for us to be accepted onto this scheme we require a pledge of support from at least 200 parishioners and need to have in place at least 6 volunteers who will help us run the scheme.
The Parish Council will be loaned a speed detection device to undertake its own traffic monitoring. The details of vehicles caught speeding will be passed on to the Police, who will consider sending a letter to the registered keeper explaining the purpose of the project.  This is an opportunity for the community to help itself in dealing with the problem of speeding.  If you would like to support this project, please complete and submit the form below including your contact details if you wish to volunteer.

Grant Applications

All applications must be submitted by 31st March 2022 and awards will be notified in the first week of April. Funding is not being allocated on a first come first served basis, but funding is limited and so any request for funding must be reasonable and realistic. Therefore, the Council will need to see an application with a clear description of the event and what the grant will be used for. It is also important to demonstrate that other sources of funding have been considered to cover costs; such as event entry fees, existing funds held by the organising group, raffle, cash bar or donations.
